Band Details:
Main Name
Curve
Formed
1991
Disbanded
January 2005
Brief Description
Initially guitar-based rock but later tending to more electronic music
Long Description
The main creative elements are singer/songwriter Toni Halliday and bassist/guitarist Dean Garcia, who collaborated in a less successful band, State of Play, before forming Curve. They were encouraged by Dave Stewart of Eurythmics and recorded on his label, Anxious. They are not normally regarded as a pop band although Toni has said she would like it if they were. They are said to have borrowed from ''Gothic Rock'' and to have heavily influenced the grunge-pop band Garbage. After their second LP, Cuckoo, their albums tended to feature electronica in favour of guitars.
